The Base Lineup forms the underlying framework of my practice. Eight figures: the Given, the Multitude, the I, the Other(s), the Structures, the Objects, the Field and the We, help me explore the dynamics of human connectedness.

The wearable works explore how ideas about connectedness can be translated into forms that can be worn, shared and activated. And exist somewhere between garment, uniform, sculpture, prop and social object.
Tools for making abstract positions visible and temporarily inhabitable. Created from fabric, colour, form and pattern.
The series originated in collaboration with Marinka van der Voort (tailor). Not as a collection but an ongoing inquiry. Some figures have already taken shape as wearable works; others remain sketches, thoughts or experiments.

As recurring players within my practice, they appear in Scripted Gatherings, photographs, lectures, presentations and publications. During the launch of I and the Others: In Search of the Connections (De Balie, 2025), more than 120 participants wore a sash, cape, sweater or other wearable object.

How do you design connection?
How do you design a garment that makes connection visible? How do you give collectivity a form through material, colour, pattern or use? What happens when a garment becomes an active participant in an encounter?
Designers, fashion houses, brands, makers and educational institutions curious about these questions are warmly invited to think, make or play along.
Interplay creates space for new forms.
